BISA Panels at ISA Convention, 2009 (Deadline 1 May)‏

Message forwarded on behalf of Professor Inderjeet Parmar: BISA CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR 'SET-ASIDE' PANELS AT THE ISA CONVENTION, NEW ORLEANS, 2010 THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN ON THE BISA WEBSITE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS BUT PLEASE NOTE: We hope colleagues have seen the Call for Papers for ISA's 2010 annual meeting, "Theory vs. Policy? Connecting Scholars and Practitioners," in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 17-20, 2010. To view the Call, please see http://www.isanet.org/neworleans2010/call-for-papers.html As BISA is designated an official Cooperating Organization, the International Studies Association SETS ASIDE for BISA 5 panels at the ISA convention, in addition to the panels individual BISA members may apply for. BISA is now requesting Working Groups to send in applications for the 5 panel slots set-aside by ISA. Normally, Only 1 (ONE) application from any Working Group is permitted in any one year; this must be accompanied by written endorsement from the WG Convenor. The deadline for sending in an application is Friday 1 May 2009 (see further details below). Successful applicants will be notified the following week and must register for the ISA Convention by 15 May 2009 citing "Cooperating Organization" in their application. Typically, an ISA panel includes 4-5 papers along with a panel chair and discussant.According to ISA's new participation rules, participants are allowed to present no more than two papers with a total of four maximum participations, including acting as discussant and chair. Note ISA Guidelines for Participants at the end of the call for papers. Colleagues should also note that all panellists will need to register through the MyISA registration system. This is a fairly easy process! Applicants Should Send the Following: 1. Panel title and rationale of no more than 200 words2. Full list of 4-5 panellists, plus chair and discussant (name, title, university affiliation, email address) 3. Provisional paper titles for each speaker (unless the application is for a Round Table)4.
